The project consisted of redeveloping a former industrial tannery site into a new substation facility. The 15-acre site was contaminated with non-hazardous soils and debris. The materials were relocated to facilitate positive drainage of surface water and capped with a geotextile liner/imported granular fill and topsoil. The non-hazardous soils were heavily organic and susceptible to settling which made the reconsolidation efforts challenging.
