Project Overview
This new exhibit is the single largest project that Brookfield Zoo has undertaken in its 75-year history and is part of an overall zoo renovation program. The Great Bear Wilderness will be the new home for Brookfield Zoo's polar bears, brown bears, bison and bald eagles and will be integrated with Regenstein Wolf Woods and Indian Lake exhibits. Additional features include an interpretive tunnel that will take guests below the animals; a “bison bunker” that will also offer a unique perspective; and a walkway to view bald eagles.
